Courtesy of Dave MasonCo-founding Traffic singer/guitarist Dave Mason will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his 1970 debut solo album, Alone Together, by releasing a newly re-recorded version of the eight-song collection titled Alone Together…Again on July 24.

The original album featured the soulful gem "Only You Know and I Know" and was certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies in the U.S. The record featured contributions from various guest musicians, including keyboardist Leon Russell; bassists Chris Ethridge, Larry Knechtel and Carl Radle; drummers John Barbata, Jim Capaldi, Jim Gordon and Jim Keltner; and backing singers Bonnie Bramlett, Rita Coolidge and Claudia Lennear.

Mason recorded Alone Together…Again with members of his touring band, as well as several guest artists, including Doobie Brothers multi-instrumentalist John McFee.

"The main reason I wanted to reimagine this album was that I was never quite satisfied with how my vocals sounded," Mason explains in a statement. "I like the songs and I like the performances but I was so young and it was my first solo album. The older I got the more the vocals bothered me and so I finally thought that I would sing the songs the way I first imagined them when I wrote them."

He adds, "It may have taken me 50 years, but I am now truly satisfied with all of the songs and I really count this as one of my most satisfying artistic achievements."

Alone Together…Again can be pre-ordered now on CD and digitally at DaveMasonMusic.com. The CD will come with a tri-fold pull-out replicating the original album's poster artwork.

To mark the album's arrival, Mason will take part in a Facebook Live event on July 24 featuring him telling stories and playing some songs.

Here's the Alone Together…Again track list:

"Only You Know and I Know"
"Can't Stop Worrying, Can't Stop Loving"
"Waitin' on You"
"Shouldn't Have Took More Than You Gave"
"World in Changes"
"Sad and Deep as You"
"Just a Song"
"Look at You Look at Me"

Trae Patton/NBCAs previously reported, Elton John tweeted about how much he was moved by America's Got Talent contestant Archie Williams, who served 37 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of rape.  But it turns out that Elton didn't stop there: The music legend also offered him an amazing opportunity.

Williams, who sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" on the NBC reality competition show, tells People magazine that Elton "called me personally. He gave me an invitation to sing on his show when he comes back to the United States. It was definitely a surprise!"

Williams adds, "He said he never heard anyone sing his song like that ever. It was really touching to him. It brought him to tears, he said. It was touching."

As a result of Williams' story, AGT judge Simon Cowell joined the Innocence Project as an ambassador. It was that organization that helped prove Williams' innocence through painstaking research and fingerprint technology.

"That's the best that could've happened to us," Williams told People of Cowell coming on board.

As previously reported, Elton has moved most of his Farewell tour dates to 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We'll see if Elton keeps his word and has Williams join him onstage when things finally go back to normal.

Richard Corkery/NY Daily News Archive via Getty ImagesElton John is mourning the death of playwright, author and activist Larry Kramer, best known for his play The Normal Heart, and for founding the landmark Gay Men's Health Crisis organization and, later, the more militant group ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power).

Kramer died of pneumonia at age 84, his husband told the New York Times, though over the years he'd battled other health issues, such as H.I.V. infection and liver disease, the latter of which required a transplant.

Elton posted a photo of himself and his husband David Furnish posing with Kramer on Instagram, and wrote, "Larry Kramer’s passing is the saddest news. We have lost a giant of a man who stood up for gay rights like a warrior."

"His anger was needed at a time when gay men’s deaths to AIDS were being ignored by the American government: a tragedy that made the Gay Men’s Health Crisis and ACT UP movements so vital," Elton added.

Indeed, Kramer was among the first activists to realize that AIDS would spread worldwide.  According to the New York Times, no less an expert than Dr. Anthony Fauci -- whom Kramer once called an "incompetent idiot" -- says Kramer played an "essential" role in the development of life-prolonging drug regimens for H.I.V. patients. The two eventually became friends.

Elton's post continued, "He never stopped shouting about the injustices against us. His voice was the loudest and the most effective. Larry Kramer captured the outrage and spirit of these turbulent times in his brilliant play The Normal Heart along with his many other writings. I was proud to know him and his legacy must be maintained."

Elton, of course, is a prominent AIDS activist himself, having raised many millions through his own Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Craft RecordingsCreedence Clearwater Revival's chart-topping 1970 album Cosmo's Factory was released 50 years ago this July, and in honor of the milestone anniversary, the record will be reissued as a standalone 180-gram vinyl LP on August 14.

The disc was remastered at London's famed Abbey Road Studios at half-speed, which results in higher-quality audio. The LP will come housed in a tip-on jacket replicating the album's original packaging.

Cosmo's Factory was CCR's most successful studio album, spending nine consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 and selling more than four million copies in the U.S. It yielded three two-sided top-five singles: "Travelin' Band" backed with "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Up Around the Bend" backed with "Run Through the Jungle," and "Lookin' Out My Back Door" backed with "Long as I Can See the Light."

The record also includes an epic, 11-minute version of the Motown classic "I Heard It Through the Grapevine."

In conjunction with the Cosmo's Factory reissue, a new official video for "Long as I Can See the Light" is being created that will premiere in time for Father's Day, June 21. Fans are being asked to contribute to the clip by submitting photos and videos that show precious memories of/with their fathers, grandfathers and other important mentors. Submissions will be accepted until this Monday, June 1, at 3 p.m. ET. Visit LongAsICanSeeTheLight.com for more details.

You can order the remastered Cosmo's Factory LP now. The Craft Recordings label's online store is offering exclusive bundles, while a limited-edition blue-vinyl version of the album will be available for pre-order starting in early June.

Trae Patton/NBCA man who served 37 years in prison after wrongfully being convicted of rape has become the current frontrunner in the 15th season of America's Got Talent.

Archie Williams dazzled the judges on Tuesday's premiere episode with his rendition of Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," which also brought the audience to its feet.

Williams shared he was freed from prison after a DNA test cleared his name of the 1982 crime.  He shared that, while in prison, the show prevented him from falling into despair.

"I watched America's Got Talent in prison and I would visualize myself there," Williams explained.  "I always desired to be on a stage like this, and now I'm here."

Williams also candidly spoke about the crime he was wrongly convicted of, saying that a 30-year-old white woman was assaulted and stabbed in her home.  She wrongfully identified him as her rapist.

However, Williams was asleep at the time of the incident but, "being a poor black kid, I didn't have the economic ability to fight the state of Louisiana," he lamented.

Despite police not finding matching fingerprints at the scene and Williams having three witnesses testify on his behalf with an alibi, "[the state] wanted somebody to pay" and he was incarcerated with a life sentence of 80 years without parole or probation.

Now, he wants to turn his life around by moving forward and fully realizing his dream.

At the end of his soulful performance, all four judges enthusiastically sent him through to the next round.

It also moved Sir Elton John to tears when he watched Williams' performance, with the singer tweeting on Tuesday, "The courage and forgiveness shown by him is truly inspiring."

America's Got Talent airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Criss Cain; Columbia RecordsLife during the COVID-19 pandemic has been sad and stressful for many people, although Ann Wilson says she's found it heartening that one of her musical heroes has chosen this time to release some inspiring new music.

"Those two Bob Dylan songs that just came out, my God, so cool," the Heart frontwoman tells ABC Audio, referring to Dylan's recent tunes "Murder Most Foul" and "I Contain Multitudes."

"Those hit me the hardest. You know, just the words that come out of our master poet of our generation…about what's going on. It's just nothing short of stunning."

Ann, who has been self-quarantining with husband Dean Wetter at their home in rural Florida, says that before Dylan released those songs, she and her spouse had been wondering what he'd been doing during this period of upheaval, and noted that the music legend's creative voice would be welcomed.

"Then, here come these two songs," Wilson notes. "[A]nd we're like, 'Oh, that's what he's doing. He's not gone…He's nowhere near gone.'"

Reflecting on the lyrics of Dylan's new tunes, Ann maintains, "He's getting so zen...The words are getting more and more Hemingway-esque, you know? They're not so flowery. They're real simple and to the point…He's always been like the master metaphor guy. But boy, I just can't say enough. I'm just so thrilled with those two songs."

Dylan also recently released a third new song, "False Prophet," and announced that a full-length studio album titled Rough and Rowdy Ways -- featuring all three tunes -- will arrive on June 19.

Meanwhile, Wilson recently told ABC Audio that she's been working on two new solo songs -- "Black Wing" and "As the World Turns" -- although release plans for those tunes haven't been announced.

Keeping the Blues Alive RecordsRock 'n' roll and doo-wop legend Dion DiMucci has debuted yet another song from his forthcoming star-studded studio album Blues with Friends. "Can't Start Over Again" features a guest appearance by U.K. guitar legend Jeff Beck.

The shuffling country-blues tune is the fifth in a series of advance tracks from the album, which Dion's been making available each week for download and streaming, leading up to Blues with Friends' June 5 release.

In the official Blues with Friends press release, Dion explains that country blues songs were his earliest musical influences, "especially Hank Williams."

Regarding "Can't Start Over Again," he notes, "For my last album I wrote a song called 'I Can't Go Back to Memphis,' but I go back there with this number. It's about love and loss and heartache, the classic themes. I believe it's a true blues song."

A companion lyric video has premiered at Dion's official YouTube channel. The black-and-white clip features footage of Dion singing the tune and separate performance footage of Beck playing guitar, interspersed with scenes of a couple of attractive woman walking away from the camera.

As previously reported, Blues with Friends also features collaborations with Bruce Springsteen and wife Patti Scialfa, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Stray Cats frontman Brian Setzer, E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt and more. Bob Dylan wrote the album's liner notes.

Blues with Friends can be pre-ordered now, and is available on CD, as a two-LP vinyl set and digitally.
