New rock doc ‘Ampire,’ featuring Peter Buck, Rick Nielsen & many more, available for streaming now

A bevy of famous rock musicians are featured in the recent documentary Ampire: The Sound of Music, which is available via streaming at for $3.99.

The film features such well-known guitarists R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen, The Doors' Robby Krieger, Rush's Alex Lifeson, and the Jefferson Airplane's Jorma Kaukonen discussing their amplifiers, how they developed their live sound and their passion for playing loud.

The various musicians also share some humorous anecdotes about their onstage adventures.

Other artists appearing in the movie include Lita Ford, Mr. Big's Paul Gilbert, Alice Cooper touring guitarist Tommy Henriksen, popular blues-rocker Joe Bonamassa and jazz fusion great Pat Metheny.
